I love asking "Why?" I ask it many times a day without realising it. Fortunately for those in earshot, these questions are silent ones. Today I walked along a paved footpath with old yorkshire stone slabs that were very 'beaten up’. "Why do I enjoy these so much when they are so impractical, being full of holes with deep cracks around them?" "Why don't I prefer smooth 'modern' ones?"

I found the freedom of expression and strength in "The vineyard with peasant woman" quite exceptional. The trees attract the eye and the strong roof line is such a contrast to their wispiness. I hope the exhibition travels to the UK.
